Being By Eileen Z

Being By Eileen Z

Eileen is a venture builder by profession, an authenticity seeker and environment curator by design. She draws, in this case literally, inspiration mostly from the bauhaus style design of her growing up days. A less is more approach design concept which still resonates even in the ever-changing landscape of today.

Being human is an on-going process of becoming authentic, discovering who we are today and changing to become the humans we truly want to be.This means being able to connect with ourselves deeply, to filter out the noise and hear the truth with greater clarity. As we become more aware of how we think and feel, we start to realise the patterns that trigger our anxiety, helplessness or anger, as well as joy, excitement and hope. We learn that, as an adult, we no longer have to fear punishment from a parent or yearn for acceptance from everyone. We realise that we don't truly want to be an accountant or a doctor. We start to see more clearly what truly motivates us in life.

Instead of being helplessly dragged along life, we learn to create our own moments and hence, our own world. Perhaps when we feel being helplessly trapped in a world full of new restrictions, instead of blaming everything around us, we learn to find and create our moments of certainty and freedom. We may find comfort in the smell of coffee every morning, freedom in creating drawings or sculptures as a newfound hobby or in running along the new trail where yellow flowers started blooming. All we need is a bit of imagination and curiosity about the world around us and there will definitely be something that connects with us personally.
